Whisky Classified at WhiskyShip 2001Whisky Classified was again presented at WhiskyShip 2001 in
Zürich, from 30 November to 3 December 2001, sponsored by Deutsche Asset Management and British Airways. Our seminars were held on board the Albis, at Schiffssteg Bürkliplatz in Zürich. The programme included a presentation of Whisky Classified by David Wishart, guest appearance from James
McEwan of Bruichladdich, and songs by Norma Munro from her recently released CD album "A Song in the Air". Whisky Classified was illustrated by tutored tastings of seven single malt whiskies. Our picture (above) shows one of the Whisky Classified presentations to Deutsche Asset
Management and their banking partners, held in the Stateroom on board the Albis. The Islay folk singer Norma Munro is flanked by James McEwan, Master Distiller and Director of Bruichladdich
(left), and David Wishart, the author of Whisky Classified (right). The tutored tasting that accompanied the seminar featured single malt whiskies from Aberlour, Glenfiddich, Glengoyne, Highland Park, Laphroaig and
Macallan; plus the new Bruichladdich 10 years old, of course.
Over 150 people attended our Whisky Classified
seminars, making it one of the most popular events of the WhiskyShip Festival. It was the only presentation not linked to product sales, as David Wishart's work is independent of any whisky
distiller or producer. The seminar was also filmed by South Korea Television, for a feature on WhiskyShip that is to be broadcast from Seoul. For more information about Whisky Classified
